May Mixer 2023

May Mixer 2023
First Mixer of the Year at The Chamber

What could possibly happen when the community of Corporate Venture Builders meet up a bar for the first time of such an intense year?

:beers:

Fireworks, that what happens! We started the eve by cheering to innovation and entrepreneurship, raising our glasses high in the name of turning crazy ideas into corporate gold! You’d expect nothing less, would you? Special thanks anyway to EDB for filling our glasses and souls!

:tada:

Amidst laughter, we heard the usual rants about the infamous “approval labyrinth” we all navigate daily and how a PhD in bureaucratic acrobatics might just become the next requirement for joining a CVB! But sometimes you just need to let it out!

:joy:

Networking went full swing, swapping ideas for cards and ventures stories for venture building models.

:handshake:

But the one thing that unites us all? The thrill of tackling complex challenges, like some sort of superheroes insane hustlers armed with Excel sheets and PowerPoint presentations, ready to save (ourselves for) the day!

:bulb:

And yet, no one was wearing a cape

:male_superhero:

The ranks dissipated while a few late birds went on to celebrate the incredible opportunity we have to shape the future and make a lasting impact in a corporate world that does not always see it this way

:briefcase:

And the time came that we all had to part and get ready for yet another day in the crazy reality of the Corporate Venture Building world! Better be awake!

:rocket:

Here’s for a light-hearted tale of a meetup that did produce laughter, camaraderie and hopefully, a renewed sense of purpose. We certainly loved gathering our crowd in a place where we could all share freely a drink, a story, a best practice, a contact or even just a smile. So, see you next month again? Get in touch if you don’t know where to.

Special thanks to Julien Condamines for the article write up and to both Julien and Hilary Chan for leading the set up behind the scenes.
